I think the information in this lesson is very important for students to learn and the idea about providing visuals to show portion size would be very helpful. However I really wish that the worksheet had been provided. Also I am afraid that it would be very hard for students to remain engaged in a lesson that seems to be mainly lecture based without much involvement on the student part.
This lesson plan is really good. I think it is important for students know how to measure serving size. It would have been helpful to link the worksheet you refer to. I thought the family education site had some great resources for students and parents. I think it would be beneficial for students to look at articles they might be interested in.
Cindy, This course has really helped us investigate resources for nutrition. Good lesson for 7th grade nutrition. I have never used the family education site, and it seems like it would be good for the kids. It's "kid friendly", and I like the idea of having them look at aricles....most of our sites are gov, so this is a nice addition! Ginger
