An overview and ways to use Geolocation

I really liked how you incorporated screen casting into your video. It was easy to follow and gave a lot of great pointers on how to use media today. Also, i found it to be very relevant to the project and to students over all that you gave an IOS presentation. Mac computers are very prevalent among students and this is something that is very helpful.
On the other hand, the conversation in the video became a little lagged and monotone at the end. It would have been nice to see more excitement and change of tone. Also, if there was a little more live action within the video i think it would have been more entertaining.
Overall, great job!
The video's transitions kept my attention throughout the entire 5 minutes. I also liked how you incorporated a lot of popular social networks which are being used today as oppose to the simple 'google map'. There weren't many negatives to this video except for when Brigette began to speak I felt like it wasn't as clear as Kyle's dialogue. Like Linda, I also thought a highlighted feature would be helpful since I had a hard time following the cursor.
I agree with the previous two comments about transitions, they were very interactive and engaging. The clarity and tone of Kyle's voice was much like one of an iPhone or Apple commercial, and I really enjoyed that. One downside though was that it was very dense in terms of narration. I lost interest during some of it simply because I could not focus on everything that was being covered. Lastly, as Rosemary said, Bridgette's voice was less clear than Kyle's and changed the flow of the video switching between voices.
Overall, good job though!
I agree with Maggie and Taylor about the wording used to describe geolocation. I will admit that I didn't fully understand what you were trying to explain until I saw a picture of Four Square and realized the concepts were connected. I liked your transitions. It kept my attention throughout the video.
I really liked the effects you used in the video; it indicated different concepts as well. I also liked the examples you used for how to use geolocation in the classroom; at first I was unsure of how it could be used, but now I see how it's beneficial.
As for things to improve on, it sounded like there was some static in the sound and some pauses.
I enjoyed the screen casting that you guys had of the Picasa geotagging. It was interesting how detailed and helpful geotagging actually can be. I also liked the transitions you guys had in your video. It was an easy way to keep the audience engaged. I think that you could have improved with the quality of the video. The background noise was extremely distracting and it made your voices sound muffled. I also thought that the extra black area around your video was distracting and could be fixed also.
I like the example of vacationing in Prague and how it showed step by step how to use geolocation and explanation of why people would use geolocation.I also liked how y'all showed where the technology of geolocation is going and what it will lead to. Two areas that i think could be improved was explaing what geolocation actually is and you didn't address the issue of student safety when using geolocation. I think that student safety should have been addressed because people can see where students are and what they are doing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video in that I learned of something that I never heard of! I also liked the pace of your presentation. Though, there wasn't a consistency of "tone" between the two of you and, agreeing with Amanda, a few of the transitions were slightly distracting.
I think their visual graphics looked really nice. They used different transitions and backgrounds which made their presentation aesthetically pleasing.I thought their organization of the presentation flowed nicely as well. They explained what geolocation was, how to use it, where to find it, and then how it related to education.I wish they would have given more examples on how to use it in the classroom especially for younger students. One other improvement might be the sound which was kind of hazy at times.
I agree with Linda about the transition effects that were used, which made the video? flow well. I like showing how you can use the app because it's easier to understand how geolocation can be helpful. I think that the video's sound could have improved because I could hear the points where they cut the sound. Using background music during the video would make it less obvious and would make it a little more interesting. There was no excitement in their voices and it set a weird tone for the video.
I really liked this video. I thought you guys did a great job with the screen casting. All the examples you gave for using this media showed its versatility and importance in learning today. I also liked how you encorporated an IOS demonstration. Apple products are some of the most prevalent new technological devices today and I think many people can relate to that sort of demonstration.
I thought you could have used a little more consistency in terms of the speaking voices. It got a bit monotonous after a while of hearing each person take a turn Ann's that might make students lose interest. I also thought your video could have benefitted from a bit more live action. It could have added more balance to the video and made it more entertaining and simulating to view.
(3/1) Forgot to rate it, rating now =)
I definitely like the visuals that you included in the video as well as the animations that you included to make an easy transition to the next topic. The video was very informative and you guys made everything easy to understand. The only two thing that I would suggest is using the music that you used at the end of the video a little bit more in the background of your video or maybe just speaking a little more enthusiastically about the subject, would have made it more interesting to watch continually.
I enjoyed the different effects used; they allowed the video to flow nicely. I also, liked the organization of the video. It was easy to understand and I'd be able to use that video if I ever need Geolocation.
I believe light music in the background would have made it more engaging. Also, if you spoke a little more enthusiastically the video would have more life.
Overall, the video would be helpful to whosoever needs to use Geolocation, so good job!
The overall video was good, before watching your video I didn't know what geolocation was so the video was very informative. I loved how you showed the audience how to navigate the site that was a huge plus considering that i'm not technology savvy.
Some downsides to this presentation was that it was a little difficult to see, maybe you could have enhanced your screen a little bit. Also maybe if you could have included some live action to the video it would have been more user friendly. Good Job Guys!
This film was great in it's proficiency with transitions and effects. The other thing I liked about your 5x7 video was that it was very clear in it's outline. The transitions were used effectively and with the right variety. You neither abused a certain transition nor did you use weak ones, there was a balance that I appreciated. Also, the effects with screen casting was used appropriately. It was a great addition to the video to use the zooming and arrows to show the audience what you were saying.
Although the production was done well, the real area that could have been improved was quality and clarity. The audio in the beginning had a tinge of static in the background and the volume was a bit low. On top of that, the overall concept of Geolocation seemed like it was a bit too complex. When, these type of topics are covered, its a good idea to have captions or even more brief sentences to convey the information to the audience. I still found it interesting and an overall good video.
I like how through out the video you had slides guiding each point. It helped me understand what you were talking about in each section. I also liked your use of examples, such as the trip to Prague. One thing I would improve on was the sound quality. Sometimes it sounded a little fuzzy. Also I feel like some of the transitions were a little long and I got a little distracted between them. But overall I think it was a great video!
Good job! I really liked your use of screencasting and you included tons of examples to show how you could use geolocation and what sort of programs/sites were out there. Additionally your transitions were really great and kept me entertained. One thing I would improve is the voice recording quality of Bridgette's pieces only because it had an echo and had a totally different sound than Kyle's. Additionally, I would have liked to have seen more of a pitch or creative plot instead of simply speaking. Finally, I still don't really know how and why geolocation can truly be used within a classroom?
I'm going to follow the crowd here and also say that I very much enjoyed the effects and transitions used in this film. I found the production quality to be very engaging. The organization of the videos content was also well put together.
I found that the individual scenes within the film would have benefited from the addition of media, for example background noise.
This is a very informative and thorough tutorial about Geolocation. The transitions, as we've all said, were clear and made the video flow nicely. I like the specific example of the Prague trip. As for things that can be improved, the wording and language throughout was almost too dense, as Maggie also said. It was hard for me (someone with little to no technology knowledge) to understand exactly what Geolocation is and and how to use it. I did recognize Four Square and Flickr which was good. Also, around the four minute mark, the arrow pointing to the words distracted me because I was unsure if I should read or listen to you talking. Overall, it was a good in-depth explanation of Geolocation.
I really like the different effects of your transitions, it made the presentation eye-catching! I also liked the music that was played at the end of the video. This video could be improved by maximizing the website screen when doing the screen cast (after 1:15 the screen minimizes for some reason). Also instead of pointing to a particular the text with an indicator arrow, it could be more convenient using highlighted feature. But all in all? it was very good :)
