Transformation is a change in the position, orientation or size of a figure. In another way it can be said to be a correspondence between two sets of points such that each point in the image, after transformation has a unique image and that each point in this image has exactly the same image as it was pre-transformation i.e. the shape still has the same size, area, angles and line lengths. The three main transformations are: Rotation, Reflection, Translation and Dilation (also known as sliding).
