Aim: To use contemporary web based technologies and social networking as a focus to enable learners to participate in community projects and become self-sufficient with free and legal digital resources available from the internet. This resource will be up-dated over the next 2 years as part of an EU Transfer of Innovation project funded at 360,000 Euros. As such it is not a finished work. (In fact it might never be finished in the sense that everything can be updated and improved :-) ) Users are free to make an account on the INGOT community web site and copy the content to pages to modify them to improve them or move them to their own sites. We would appreciate acknowledgement and a link to our site if you do this. As we are in an early stage of developing the core resource pages, they are not themselves editable as the resource leads to nationally accredited qualifications linked to national IT standards and the European Qualifications Framework and needs to support the assessment criteria. However, the content is CC-SA licensed so you are free to take the content and edit it for your own purposes eg to fit local standards or syllabi. If you want to contribute just make an account on the community site, add pages and link them. We would welcome alternative versions on the INGOT site supporting other national or regional standards. e-mail us and we can either make links for you from the main resource or give you rights to do it. We will be applying for further EU grants and we will build further courses leading to accredited qualifications that are CC-SA licensed over the next few years. We make money from the INGOT certification programme, not selling digital resources so any content supporting these resources will be CC-SA licensed for free public use. Development will be supported by income from the certification programme, EU and similar grants. This is just so you know we have a sustainable support strategy so that these resources will develop and improve over time and they will always be free.
