This lesson plan goes over a new B-HAG that is used in this unit (Big Hairy Audacious Goal). The lesson is from 7th grade at a KIPP school, and it introduces the Document Based Question (DBQ) essays that students will later encounter in AP History classes.
The lesson discusses the NCLB and AP tests and frames issues in a way most appropriate for underprivileged students. (basically, "Most poor kids don't get enough college-type history instruction. Let's show em!")
