Our goal is to deliver literacy and 1st through 3rd grade learning to little girls in Afghanistan (and boys too) who do not have schools or teachers, and will not get schools or teachers in the foreseeable future. We are family oriented and believe that even with illiterate parents, dysfunctional civil social structure, war and poverty, it is not necessary that yet another generation be lost because there is no way for these little children to learn to read and write. If they grow up illiterate in an information dominated world, they cannot learn about the world they live in, they cannot find a positive, rightful place for themselves and their families. We are a non-profit organization based in San Francisco and Kabul, Afghanistan, developing -- and searching for already developed -- video material which addresses literacy for young children, and which can be dubbed into the Dari and Pashto languages (Dari is a dialect of Farsi). The help of many people has brought us very far, but we need your help too. Please check us out: www.afghan-satellite-teachers.net. Please send to us: Video literacy material which can be dubbed. Volunteers willing to help in script writing, filming, editing, dubbing. Financial resources, from contacts with foundations which might be interested in the proposal, to your personal contribution through our web site ePayOps page for credit cards. Thank you for your consideration.
