Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning, or POGIL, represents a methodology by which students, working within small groups of 3-4 learn, apply and critically analyze new concepts. You can think of a POGIL activity as a lecture replacement. Instead of telling students what matters, you allow them to determine this for themselves. This particular POGIL focuses on semiconductor materials in order to help them better address the unit prompt: "How does a LED work?"
