A lesson about being media literate and understanding the difference between fact and opinion.Students will identify and list facts and opinions from a published news article. Students will then create their own news article in order to dissect the main content, supporting details, facts and opinions of the story. This will help students understand how fact and opinion are simultaneously portrayed within the media. Analyzing media messages will allow students to have a foundation for interpreting the information we learn in the media and how it can be biased at times.
