Why do scientists test for DNA in the first place? These human remains have been called ‚¬Å“mummies‚¬? by the scientists because they are naturally mummified corpses, not mummies in the Egyptian sense where the deceased are embalmed. We see a neonate, a baby that died before it was 6 months old. And we also learn about the dates the scientists were able to procure through carbon dating of the bones.
