This lesson, from EDSITEment, contains four activities for students to compliment their appreciation of Paul Revere's celebrated ride with an understanding of the less-celebrated rides of other, no less significant figures involved with the revolutionary conflict of the time. The activities involve a study of The Ride of Tench Tilghman, a contemporary poem. Students take part in a role-play, arguing the merits of other historical riders, and research Longfellow's poem in order to create commemorative poetry of their own.
