Students will compare and contrast the difference between humans and plants based on their anatomy such as cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm, and their basic functions. Understanding and identifying these characteristics will allow students to recognize the importance of Eukaryotes and Prokaryotes. Knowing these basics and the structures inside each of these cells will give them the foundation to understand how and why they function the way they do. This basic understanding will explain more complex topics such growth, maintenance, reproduction, and homeostasis and functions of these cells in biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology courses that is needed in professional careers later in life.
