This lesson plan is written for grade three. It is designed around adjectives and how to use the five senses to help think of a variety of adjectives. The lesson is aligned to California standards. Students are asked to demonstrate their ability to write descriptive sentences using concrete sensory details by writing a five-sentence paragraph that describes the given object. Informal assessments are used. A clear instructional plan is provided with a step by step to do list broken into three sections, Into, Through and Beyond. Ideas to differentiate instruction are also included. Hand outs and formal assessments are referred to, but not provided.
