In this session, you will examine questioning techniques designed to elicit students' algebraic thinking and understanding about patterns activitives.To conclude the patterns section of this course, we turn our focus to developing good questioning techniques that help students develop algebraic thinking in the context of patterns activities. In Session 2, we focused on your own algebraic thinking as a basis for examining students’ algebraic thinking in Session 3. Using the information you’ve gleaned about your own and students’ thinking, this session focuses on shaping instruction based on this information – specifically, posing good questions as part of developing and conducting rich discussions in math class.
