My students really enjoyed this activity. It's short and easy to implement, and it's quite engaging. Students of all levels were interested in this one.
This activity seems a bit goofy at the outset, but it really forces students to attend to the characteristics of a graph and think about how those characteristics are brought about in the problem context. It provides a great opportunity (and context) for discussions about comparing rates, and thinking about undefined and zero slopes.
