Stretch and Explore
Engage & Persist
What Will Students Make, Say Do?
Students will collectively curate media that exemplifies one or several of the studio habits.
Each new media entry will be presented to the group in an interactive voicethread.
Throughout the year, Students will select content that reflects their personal studio habits in a research journal & digital portfolio. A culminating 3D art object or installation that is a memoir of their studio practice will be part of a group exhibition.
How is this Unit Culturally Responsive?
Inquiry is Student Driven and Collaborative.
By using Contemporary Art Practice as a Lens students will be searching for meaning and relevance while making connections with the dilemmas and the paradox in the larger world.
Which Authentic Assessments will be used?
Curation and collaborative commenting on voicethread will make learning visible
Student Research Journals will demonstrate thinking over time with text, imagery and connections.
By returning to SHoM students and classroom practice will revolve around reflective thinking.
