I enjoyed that this time line really simplified the whole crisis. It weeded out all the complicated details and focused on the major points leading up to the crisis. It definitely helped to clarify some things. Presenting this as a power point might be a little overwhelming for students because some of the slides have a lot of information and text. Maybe less text on a presentation would be helpful. I also think this would be a great study guide for students. I would print out copies of the slides so that students had access to the information whenever they needed clarification.
I think this timeline helped me tremendously. It gave roots to this crisis and I believe that when you understand the past it helps to better understand the future. I think a timeline was the exact remedy to help us all wrap our heads around this crisis that has so many facets. The only issue I had with it was that some slides seemed to have a plethora of information and I think that it might have been better received if it were broken down into more slides (As Brandon stated). Overall, I think it was great!!
The timeline created by this group especially helps me to further understand the financial crisis, as admittedly I have near zero familiarity with the topic and find many of the subject therein difficult to comprehend. As Brandon already stated, it could perhaps be better if it was more concise, but I still overall found it extremely helpful.
I found this timeline to be extremely helpful in simplifying the complexities of the financial crisis. It included a lot of nice visuals that really helped me envision the more challenging concepts. I also think it really highlighted the important features of the topic and concentrated less on smaller details which made things less confusing!
I liked the content and use of this timeline. The whole concept of this crisis if very complex and technical. Almost to the point of being too difficult for high school, and even college, level students to understand. This timeline breaks down the essential points needed to understand how the crisis unfolded. An improvement to this would be to use less words on the actual slides when presenting it to the class. Just have a short, one sentence summary of the event and a visual on the slide for the students to see, then discuss the event in more detail verbally. Again, nice work!
