These are the materials relevant to our Trimester Culminating Project: a re-enactment of Where the Wild Things Are in Spanish. Kindergarten has spent two-thirds of the trimester learning about commands and feelings and a week learning vocabulary relevant to the story (cena, rey, monstruos, etc). The class will also have heard the book read to them in Spanish at least three times and practiced using their props before any assessment takes place. The re-enactment will take place as follows: each student will be assigned a prop (a boat, a monster, supper, a tree, a feelings card, etc). The teacher will read Where the Wild Things Are in Spanish and when the students hear their prop mentioned, they will stand and act out the corresponding action. Students are encouraged to say the story words along with the teacher.
