Vocabulary Across the Curriculum is a two year middle school program that teaches students the meaning of 20 roots throughout one year. These roots were selected by math, science, social studies and English teachers. Each root has a brief introductory activity and sign designed to prompt students with the meaning. After every four roots are introduced a cummulative activity is designed for application and reinforcement. An assessment is included that is used for both pre and post data collection. The program is not designed to be "graded." It is designed to support students in all disciplines when confronted with words they do not necessarily know.
