The newest report by Tim O'Reilly and John Batelle, creators of the term web 2.0, summarizes the first five years of collective intelligence. It focuses itself mainly on the intersection of social web technologies and the Internet of Things (real world objects connected to the internet). When the term web 2.0 was created noone predicted (O'Reilly admits he didn't) that the mobile internet-connected objects will be developed so quickly. The report discusses the possible future of internet, when "collective intelligence applications are no longer being driven solely by humans typing on keyboards but, increasingly, by sensors" as the author states it.
