Great job ladies!
I really like the teacher skit you used, it was entertaining and amusing. Also, I thought your video had a great mix of live action and screen casting. Not one person was in the video for too long, instead you combined technology and personality.
On the other hand, the audio was a little off and sometimes the screen casting was a
little difficult to follow. Maybe some more directions while you were screen casting
would have made it easier to follow.
Overall, great job!
Using the teacher skit was funny and eye-catching. I also like the information you guys included and the way you included screen shots. I think your audio volume wasn't consistent but it could also be my computer.
I love the introduction to this video, it's very attention grabbing. I also like the combination of skit and screen casting, as well as the short sentences in the narration. Two downsides are that in the opening credit "7 Things You Should Know About WordPress" WordPress is two separate words, which is not how the website spells it. Also, the demonstration of how to use the website is much more an individual tutorial rather than a quick informational guiding that I would have liked to see in this type of assignment
What you did at the beginning of the video (with the person playing the role of a teacher) grabbed my attention. It was a funny way to start your video. I really liked the music too. It was a good choice of tune, but I think one of the speakers could have been a little louder so the voice wasn't drowned out by the music. Overall, I think you did a good job!
I like how you did a screencast in the beginning and the ending with the teacher gave the video a strong ending because it made me want to use wordpress. I think in the beginning the word "discussion" was almost cut out so maybe leave more space before transitioning scenes. Also, a few scenes were a little shaky so maybe put the video camera on a tripod. I really like the idea of using wordpress in study abroad courses specifically.
First of all, I thoroughly enjoyed your actor who played the teacher using Word Press. I thought it helped your video be more engaging and interesting, giving a fun twist to your content. Overall I thought your voices were very clear and the content you had was very informative. Maybe, you could have used the teacher's voice for the video and made it more like a skit though, like he was actually using it in your class. That would have been interesting too! The background music was kind of actually distracting to me. Maybe if you guys weren't speaking you could have used music, but since you were a felt like I wasn't listening as much. At the end also, your voices became a little staticy, that could have been easily improved.
Very good 5x7. I liked how you showed pretty much exactly how to use wordpress and showed how easy it is to see what has been recently posted. I think y'all could have gone more indepth on how to re-blog and the volume could have been adjusted. Overall, good job! :)
I absolutely enjoyed watching the make believe commercial. It was extremely amusing and really set up the tone for the rest of the video - which, in my opinion, was informative and casual. I also enjoyed the music choice!
As with everyone else has said, the inconsistency of voice overs is where the largest need for improvement should be. Also, the screencasting was a bit tricky to follow. Overall though, I really liked your video!
I think they did a great job of making the video interesting it was almost like an infomercial which I thought was cool. I also really liked the repetition at the end... I had it stuck in my head so I clearly remembered the product. They mentioned 7 things to know about wordpress, so I wish they would have done a count down or some type of counting to indicate the 7 things they were talking about.I thought the screencasting was a bit small maybe they could have zoomed a bit more.
I thought you ladies did an amazing job! I thought the video had a great balance of screen casting and live action. I really liked your idea about using an actor in parts of your video. It made the video entertaining and relatable. I also felt you pointed out the most important facets of WordPress and made a good argument for why it is useful and important.
I felt the video could have used some more music during the parts with the live actor. I liked the music during the screen cast and thought it would have made the actor parts more lively and entertaining. I also felt you could have used the zoom feature a bit more in your screen cast. It was only used once I believe and I think the video would have benefited from more instances of it. I found myself wincing to figure out what the mouse was doing a bit too much.
Again, great job ladies!
I thought this video was very engaging. I really like the teacher skit that you have throughout the video and I like the transitions that you included for the next topic. Not only was the video entertaining, it was also informative.
Only improvements I would suggest is muting the volume when typing so the focus can continue to remain on the content of the video. Also, the volume of the speakers voices were inconsistent. Try to make it an easy transition by adjusting the volume when each speaker is about to talk. Overall, I enjoyed the video :-)
I think everyone agrees that including the actor was entertaining. He really grabbed my attention at the beginning of the video. I also liked how the video ended with the actor saying that he uses WordPress and he encourages teachers to use it as well.
At one point in the video, I could hear you typing and the was slightly distracting because no one was speaking, so trying not to include that would improve the quality. As well as the voices at points were inconsistent (meaning that one voice would be louder then another voice).
Other then that, this was a very good video!
I really enjoyed the formatting for this video. I like that there was an opening explaining what the video would talk about and why.Adding the actor really added quality to the video
The only thing I would say was a downside to the video was the lack of transition and that I could hear typing in the background. Other than that the video was great!
I really liked how you incorporated scenes at the beginning and throughtout the presentation. It was a great way to break up the presentation so it was not just the website and voices; it really was a great touch and made the video more interesting and enjoyable to watch. I also thought your voices were very clear.
At the beginning of the video when you switched narrative roles, it seemed like your voices got a cut off and your words weren't fully finished, but other than that they were clear. It did not continue through the whole video though, which was good. Also, I think you may find it helpful to highlight the cursor so it is easier for viewers to follow it and see where they need to click and so on. Other than that, good job.
This video had many strong points and I only have a few criticisms of it. The main point that captivated me was that you made the subject relatable to the audience and you made it intriguing by highlighting all of the different features of Word Press. The other strong part of the film is the variety. It was a great addition to use another character and have him do live action scenes and not only that the camera effects were great with slow motion and angle changes.
The two ways that you could have improved on was audio, and delivery. For instance, give the audience some time to pause and reflect. It seemed that the film was a bit rushed in some areas. Also it is important to take advantage of screen cast. You could have zoomed in at some instances or even did some other effects. Other than that, great video and great job!
Great Job! Really liked your use of screen cast but thought it was a bit difficult to actually see what you were doing on the screen. Perhaps this is because I am blind and can't see that small of font, but I do think it would have been a bit easier if it was closer up. I don't know how you guys can do that though besides zooming in on your screen. Also I really liked the simple plot line because it made it easy to follow. The acting was entertaining and actually funny at times. The music was relaxing and pretty subtle as a background. My only suggestion is that you may have wanted to lower it a bit because one of your voices was louder and easier to follow than the other, and thus the quieter person's voice got lost behind the music at times.
I really enjoyed the formating for this video. I like that there was an opening that set the scene, explaining what the video would talk about and why. I think having an actor involved added to the films entertainment value.
The only part of the video I found to be sub-par was the lack of transitions between screens. At one point the overlap was particularly pronounced, cutting off one speaker as the video moved into another screen.
I like how you incorporated a live video along with the screencasting and narration. This kept my attention through the beginning of the video. The transitions were also appealing the to eye in the video. Without the replicated transitions my attention was focused throughout.
Two areas that could be improved are how the volume increases around the 3 minute mark. Also, I wish you had removed the bottom bar from the screencasting, but that is just me being picky. Great job!
I liked how you included funny parts with the "teacher" as well as informational screen casts that show how to use Word Press. The background music was a nice touch and it didn't override the step-by-step tutorial instructions. As far as two things that can be improved, you could have showed how to post videos and photos to blogs. You also could have explained what "re-blog" means and how to do it. Overall, I liked learning about Word Press since I've never heard about it before... I see how it can be very useful in a classroom.
I really liked the "teacher addition". I thought that was a really good grabber and funny as well! I also liked the background music you two picked and the transitions by using the orange and white slide, those were very clear colors. Slight improvements could be to? try to keep the volume of the speaker about the same (after 3:06, the voice increases abruptly). Also I wanted you to scroll down the article of Quick 5 Tips: Surviving Intensive Teaching, I was interested in reading some of it haha
