This is a collection of games, demonstrations and activities that will answer three important questions:
What are the sources of dangerous sounds?
2. What are the effects of listening to dangerous sounds?
3. How do I protect myself from dangerous sounds?
The Virtual Exhibit is based on the Dangerous Decibels exhibit at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland, Oregon.
In this activity, students will work cooperatively to write a detailed procedure describing the steps necessary to re-create a simple Lego structure. Students will also have the opportunity to try and construct a Lego structure using their classmate's instructions. The activity culminates in self- and peer- evaluation, a written reflection, and class discussion.
This set of four Flash activities helps students to understand more about how they hear. This resource was created by the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders.
