This activity includes a collection of resources to provoke student thinking about creative invention. Intended for late high school students, a poem and a series of Pop Tech! videos (http://www.poptech.com/ - Creative Commons license) inspire student discussion of artists’ invention and creative expression, with the ultimate goal of helping students imagine tools of their own expression. Also included are a series of thoughtful questions to guide students in this process. The CRS imagines this is a robust lesson in the contributing teacher’s own classroom, but for the benefit of the Curriki community who may be less familiar with these ideas, it would be beneficial to include more specific pedagogy. The CRS would like to see how the topic is introduced in the classroom, suggestions for how to moderate the classroom discussion or more examples of artist- and student-created tools.
