Gr. 9-12 Public Speaking 2010 - 2011
Description:The following CAP will be for Public Speaking I and is aimed at helping beginners to speak publicly, primarily focusing on overcoming fears associated with public speech. Lessons will include ice-breakers, mini-speeches, different forms of speech and the development/creation of speeches. The goal is to have students confidently give speeches by doing research, practicing, and preparing. This CAP is designed for the ninth to eleventh grades in the secondary school for an elective course. The unit is designed to meet the needs of the Honors, Regents and Regents Support student. Additionally, the lessons in the unit incorporate the NYS Learning Standards:
