This lesson walks students through an optimization problem involving building the maximum area of a triangle, expressed in terms of an angle, θ. The authors list grades 9 and above as the target audience for this lesson, but it may be a bit too challenging for traditional algebra and geometry students. Also, please note that Geometer’s Sketchpad is required for this lesson. Excellent resource!
