In this description of the Wyoming 6th-grade Curriculum you will find the following discussions: How this curriculum was developed; for what programs and students the curriculum and materials are appropriate; what a novice learner looks like; how and why thematic units and the concept of backward design are central to the materials; as well as brief discussions of the use of textbooks, the inclusion of grammar, the centrality of culture, and how assessments are part of the learning process with this curriculum.
