This is an inquiry lab using meter sticks and marbles. Concepts involving average speed, data collection, graphing, extrapolation and interpolation of data. This lab leads to students discovering concepts such as acceleration, friction and momentum.

Students use meter sticks and a marble to record average speed at two different distances. They record and graph the data, then interpolate the location at a further distance. Extensions and open inquiry options available.
