My Curriki

Overview

Each member of Curriki has a personalized section of the site called My Curriki that is automatically created upon registration as a Curriki member. My Curriki includes the following areas:

  • Profile
  • Favorites
  • Collections
  • Contributions
  • Groups

Navigate through each area by clicking on the appropriate tab. You will also find links to the My Curriki sub-pages from the left navigation menu.

Profile Tab

Your member profile in My Curriki contains all of your user information. When you first register on Curriki, the information you provided is added to the Profile tab (see Membership & How to Join for details).

Based on the amount of information you entered, you'll see how complete your profile is at the top of the screen (see Completing Your Profile 100% for more information).  You can update this information at any time by clicking the “Edit Profile” button at the top right of the tab.

In addition, you can add more details about yourself that other users will see when they view your materials.

  • Add a photo of yourself or an avatar image to enhance your profile.  For details on the best format for your profile image, see the Images & Logos section of the Help Collection.
  • Include your bio to let other members know more about you. Consider adding info such as what you do, where you live, and how you use Curriki.
  • Add additional ways to contact you (such as instant messenger screennames or ways to find you on Facebook or LinkedIn) in order to network with other community members.
  • Place a reference to your own websites and/or blogs, or link to some of your favorite educational sites.
Keep your email up to date, change your display name, or opt-in and opt-out of Curriki emails from this page. Certain personal information is never displayed to other users. If you'd like, you can see how others view your profile (when your profile is shared) by clicking the "View My Public Profile" button at the top right of the tab.

Check back from time to time for additional updates. If you registered on Curriki a while ago, additional profile information fields may have been added that will help you connect with members who have similar interests.

Favorites Tab

The Favorites tab of My Curriki is the place where you'll see any Curriki resources that you've "favorited" throughout the site. It's sort of like "bookmarking" a website in your browser.

To add resources to your Favorites, follow these simple steps:
1.    Make sure you're logged in to Curriki.
2.    Locate the resource you'd like to favorite.
3.    When you are viewing that resource, you'll see a link menu on the upper right corner of the page that displays icons and links for Favorite, Email, and Print.
4.    Click the Favorite link.

The resource will be added to your Favorites tab in MyCurriki, and you can come back to it at any time.

Click on one of the resources in order to view it. You can also use the links to the right of each resource to Add the resource to one of your collections or Remove it from your favorites.

Contributions Tab

The Contributions tab of My Curriki displays all of the resources that you have contributed to the repository, including collections, folders, and file resources.

Click on one of the resources in order to view it. You can also use the links to the right of each resource to Add, Edit, Copy, Build Up, Organize, or Delete the resource. Note that this tab listing is the only location where you can officially delete a resource you have created or contributed.

To create a new resource from this page, you can click the “Add a Resource” button at the top right of the tab. This will start the process described in the How to Create Resources section of the Help Collection.

Collections Tab

The Collections tab of My Curriki displays all of the Collections that you have built. You will not see file resources (i.e. an individual lesson plan) or folders you created within a collection on this tab. (To see them, refer to the Contributions Tab.)

Click on one of the collections in order to view it. You can also use the links to the right of each resource to Add, Build Up, Edit Info, Organize, or Delete the resource. Note that deleting a collection will not delete the resources it contains; those resources can still be accessed from the Contributions tab.

To create a new collection, click the “Add a Collection” button at the top right of the tab. This will start the process described in the How to Create Collections section of the Help Collection.

Once you have created multiple collections, you’ll see a “Reorder” link appear in the red header bar.  By default your collections will appear in order of the most recently updated, but you can use this feature to create a specific sequence for your collections.

There is also a link to “Hide Descriptions” or “Show Descriptions” in the red header bar. Use this to customize the display of your collections.

Groups Tab

The Groups tab of My Curriki displays all the groups that you have joined.

For each group, you will see the Group Name and logo, the group’s description, and recent messages that have been posted in the group space.

Use the “Visit This Group” link in the blue header bar to navigate to the Group’s space.

If you have joined more than five groups, you may need to use the navigational links at the bottom of the page to see all of your groups.
