Reviewer Comments:

This collection consists of various parts of a six-lesson unit on the brain appropriate for elementary students. The unit will take a few minutes to untangle, but the lessons progress through a sequence of (1) introduction – (2) physical appearance of brain – (3) parts & functions – (4) different learning styles – (5) appropriate nutrition – (6) “expert” posters self-promotion. The goal is for students to understand that everyone has a different kind of mind and that everyone learns differently. The unit is strong in theory, but will take some organization on the instructor’s part (creating referenced overheads and cards, substituting referenced text pages) to make it classroom-ready.

Would love to see more material on the brain and learning for students. This resource is a great start. Thanks!

Love these lessons to begin the year so students are able to be more responsible for their own learning.
