Reviewer Comments:

This curriculum guide is full of thoughtful and engaging lesson plans centered around themes of respect and kindness. The lessons cover a variety of topics that are linked to various subject areas and build on relevant curriculum to teach important values to the students. There is a large range of activities including journal writing, the creation of an oath of kindness, an assessment of bullying and violence at one’s school, connections to various historical events to illustrate key ideas, and much more. All of the lessons are well-organized with standards, essential questions, procedures, and materials. The lessons could be stand alone or could be used to support a school-wide effort. The Rachel’s Challenge organization has a website (http://www.rachelschallenge.org/) and is available to do site presentations to accompany the types of activities included in the resource.
