This is a high level resource with in depth content on subsistence societies, the transition to global communities, and the development of international standards. There is a clear goal and the lecture is well-organized into sections that address each of the various topics. The lecture has definitions of key terms and there is also a reference list provided for further research. This resource could be used in a variety of ways including background for a teacher or as a reading with questions. If it is used as a lecture, it might be beneficial to provide students with a general handout or outline of the lecture for them to follow and use for note-taking.
