Lesson plan introducing and comparing primary sources and secondary sources. It's made for a unit on African movements for independence, but it could be used in other contexts with only minor adaptations. Objective: I will be able to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of primary and secondary sources. Essential Question: Do schools in the United States spend enough time teaching their students about history? This resource is part of Unit 3: Battles for Independence I and the Social Studies 7 course.
