Description:

This project is part of an interdisciplinary unit on Mark Twain. Students listen to this piano composition with a listening map. Then they create their own listening map (a visual description of what's happening in the music) using graphics.

This resource is provided as part of an interdisciplinary study of Mark Twain. Students are asked to listen to the Mark Twain Waltz and draw a representation of the music in a creative listening map form. A link is provided for the sheet music to the Waltz, but there is no link to the actual recording of the Waltz, which would enhance this integrated curriculum and make it easier to use. The resource has a rubric which offers clear guidance in assessing and/or creating the map. There is also a link to RubiStar, which is an external link to help create rubrics.
