Description:

In this activity, students will refer to a graph of hydraulic measures of water for the state of Maine to gather and interpret statistics on precipitation, stream flow, depth to groundwater, and others; and examine an illustration of the hydrologic cycle and discuss the relationships between the various occurrences of water within the cycle. Using information from the graph, they will calculate averages for the variables, and answer some general questions on the annual fluctuations in the water budget.
