The ABC's and 123's is an activity that will allow students to practice solving equations given specific constraints. Students will create equations that result in each variable (a through z) being used, representing each variable's numerical value (1-26). In addition, the activity includes an artistic component where students creatively express their understanding of equations and this activity. Students will need to have previous understanding of solving equations, including the use of negative numbers. A scoring rubric and self-assessment tool are also provided. All necessary materials are provided with this ready to use and well-written activity.
