This set of animations shows monthly variations in temperature and precipitation for the State of Alaska, which are useful for scientific visualization of long-term patterns across the state's various landscapes, and month-to-month through the seasons. They were created using monthly weather station data and other point measurements (1961-1990) spatially distributed using the Parameter-elevation Regressions on Individual Slopes Model (PRISM) climate mapping system. Users can select two-dimensional movies of temperature or precipitation in large or small file sizes, PowerPoint slide presentations, or 3-D fly-through movies of the same data. A set of links to information on the creation of the animations and the PRISM data modeling system, and to sites with related information, are also included.
