In this three lesson study of line plots students are motivated by data from the "Guinness Book of World Records". Each lesson includes data that has been presented in the book and a sample set of data to compare it to. Students conduct similar experiments in class and display their data on line plots. Each lesson adds another level to the data analysis: minimum, maximum, mode, range, and median. All student resource sheets and answer keys are included with this lesson plan in PDF format.
