Description:

8 page (two printed 8.5X11 sheets) accurately illustrated guide to North American crawly creatures, using similarities between types of crawlies to highlight how taxonomy works. Excellent for creating awareness of local biodiversity if you send the wee ones out in the school yard with the guide, as crawly creatures can be found in all ecosystems, even those heavily modified by humans. Reviewer Comments:

This guide would be useful for field studies by elementary and middle school students. The illustrations and informative paragraphs are clear, accurate and engaging. This guide would benefit from some explicit pedagogy, explaining more specifically how students can use this guide in the classroom. Also, users should look out for some smudging/ text issues on page 4 and 7 of the guide, which obscures some of the information. Also, in the “add your own entry” section, there are minor typographical errors. Overall, this resource would be a useful addition to any science classroom.
