Please comment here on the idea of a distributed session to introduce a few departmental faculty to the Bay Area Knowledge Exchange for Dev Math, involving a shared CCC Confer walkthrough and local discussion about priority areas for potential sharing of exemplary practices and resources. This could be part of our next Faculty Colleagues team meeting on March 25th, or it could be in some other timeslot. (This could be done on a monthly basis, or be a precursor to a targeted session just for your department, either F2F when I am in the Bay area or as a CCC Confer session.)
We can't reset the default content that Curriki sends out in the Invitation to Become a Member - but we can edit it to customize for our invitees and to make the process clearer for them. This document contains some sample text to explain what your invitees do to become members of BAKE.
Guillermo Alvarez, Faculty Colleague at San Diego City College, prepared this quick guide showing how to invite a faculty member to BAKE from your own email account - so the message does not come from Curriki. You will, of course, substitute BAKE anywhere SAKE appears :).
Thanks to Daniel for getting the ball rolling on this. Tue and Bob will be making revisions, and others will be providing additional details on the interactions they offered to lead - but if some of you need something to show faculty while we move forward, this is the latest version of our plans for faculty groups to work collaboratively.
Daniel prepared a summary of the actions going forward, as an outline of potential activities for faculty at BCC. You can find it in the BCC weblog in the Faculty Colleagues folder, in the Faculty Discussions etc. Collection
