Reviewer Comments:

This lesson begins with the students having already mastered permutations and combinations, and leads them thru some interesting applications for the binomial theorem. The highlight of the lesson is the demonstration of the quincunx, a device invented by Francis Dalton but best shown as an Internet applet. Some of the formulas are presented out of the blue; a little refresher would be advisable. The quincunx demonstration is fascinating and should cause some students to become hypnotized.
