Description:

The eye’s blind spot and receipt of visual information are explored through this activity from the Exploratorium. The five minute activity uses only paper and a meter stick to illustrate the presence and influence of one’s blind spot. An explanation of the experience is included along with activity variations and an extension that measures the approximate size of the blind spot on the retina. This activity is part of Exploratorium's Science Snacks series.
