CCLI: Bioinformatics provides content modules;--presentation slides for approximately three hours of instruction and a homework assignment--that cover fundamental concepts in bioinformatics and molecular biology. The modules are intended to enable faculty to readily introduce these topics into pre-existing courses. Specific topics include Introduction to Bioinformatics, Gene Expression and Regulation, Algorithms in Bioinformatics, Databases/Data Mining, Bioinformatics Tools and Science and the Scientific Method. Each module consists of approximately five hours of instruction with a problem-based learning component and illustrative homework assignment and addresses a fundamental concept in bioinformatics (e.g., algorithms, databases, etc.).
