Description:

This activity is used to familiarize students with the information found on aerial photographs and topographic maps. A variety of objects and locations was selected to introduce the use of different styles and symbols. Students should be able to compare scales, recognize patterns, and identify surface features and processes. They will be able to compare how features represented on the map appear in reality, i.e., in an aerial photo of the same location.
