Shmoop study guide for this topic in American history.
The information found on the "study guide" is very limited as to its breadth and depth of the causes of the civil war. It gives a brief analysis of the cause as being a war fought for the emancipation of the slaves in the southern states and leaves it at that.
It then offers a section with hyperlinks which takes you to other sites dedicated to different aspects of the causes of the civil war. The 'analysis' and 'photos' links were broken. The 'timeline' and 'people' links worked well and the pages were well organized with the information I expected to find when first opening the "study guide".
At the bottom of the "study guide" Shmoop offers a trivia fact and asks you to visit their website for more complete Civil War information.
The title "study guide" throws you off into thinking that you are downloading a workable study guide that might benefit the students to stay on course. However, outward appears seem to suggest that it is just a ploy to get you to go to their website.
With a little bit of reworking, a teacher could turn this "study guide" into a fill-in-the-blank worksheet to take notes on while giving instruction in the classroom.
