This activity has students work to find a point equidistant from 3 given points using a scenario of locating a good place for a new restaurant. The activity provides great instructional suggestions to maximize student understanding and ability to provide clear explanations. Students work independently and in small groups. In addition, students are asked to evaluate conclusions and critique the reasoning of other students' work. Final student solutions can be evaluated using a provided rubric. This activity is well done and provides great suggestions for teachers. It can easily be used in a classroom setting.
