Reviewer Comments:

This resource is a lesson plan on cochlear implants. The overall lesson plan is well-planned with a variety of activities including surveys, discussion, and video, however, it does not include some of the key materials to implement the lesson. The surveys, video, and lecture notes would all have to be created or found. One suggestion is to use resources from the PBS site for the documentary Sound and Fury (http://www.pbs.org/wnet/soundandfury/index.html). The site includes video clips and relevant resources on the device and the controversy surrounding its use.

I enjoyed this lesson! I think it is important for students to understand the issues surrounding CIs and the Deaf culture. The controversy is something that students wouldn't even know…
