This is a good current events assignment designed for an American Government class. The asset includes detailed instructions, clear guidelines, and a extensive description modeling how to complete the assignment. There is depth to the assignment as it requires students to summarize, analyze, and write about a current issue rather than to just re-state basic facts. Students are expected to use MLA to cite the article so they will need to have some instruction on MLA. It would be beneficial for teachers to create a sample content based assignment to model expectations for students to accompany the other directions provided.
