The site also features lesson plans as well as reference and historical materials related to congressional topics. The Dirksen Congressional Center, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research and educational organization, designed the site as a service for teachers of American government, history, and civics. This resource is referenced in the EDSITEment lesson titled '' The First Amendment: What's Fair in a Free Country?''
