Released on February 2, 2001, the Consolidated International Banking Statistics for February 2001 show that international bank claims stood at $7,484 billion at the end of 2000. This is $86 billion less than the third quarter of the same year, mainly because of reduced dollar values of claims denominated in euro and non-dollar currencies.
