The course materials for the third unit, Find/Search: Making the Internet Your Best Friend, contain lessons, activities, and resources developed by Chris Penny to help teachers learn how to find and then evaluate good sources of Open Educational Resources, as part of the professional development course, Integrating Open Educational Resources in the Classroom. The World's 1.6 billion Internet users have created a tremendous number of open educational resources. Unfortunately, the experience of trying to find high quality, appropriate, and clearly licensed as free and open, materials can be difficult at best. Using information contained in the Open Educational Resources Handbook, this module will help pre-service teachers find and evaluate open educational resources. Each section is presented in a logical order deemed most efficient for locating open educational resources, however if you have specific needs you may simply wish to skip ahead and reference a particular section. Remember to search for quality, and have confidence in your ability to use your own discretion in judging the potential usefulness of a given resource as a prospective teacher.
