In 'Cubed Cans" students calculate the volume of a can and then design and calculate the surface area of rectangular prisms that have similar volumes. Students then analyze what design would best meet the needs of a "company". Equations and tables for recording data are provided. The teacher will need to provide cans for measuring. No answer key or sample work is provided, but overall the activity is sound.
